The lodge is perfectly located at a 5 minutes walk to the beach ‘Praia das Cabanas Velhas’. This beautiful quiet sand beach has often surf-able waves in winter and has calm crystal clear water in summer. The beaches of Burgau and Salema are only at 5 minutes drive from the villa.
The Algarve is known for it’s beautiful surf beaches. In winter the beach breaks along the south coast have often waves when storms at see produce big swell . In summer the surf is mainly at the West Coast , only at a 15 minutes drive from the lodge. We have great knowledge of the area and can advise you on where to surf or put you in touch with a local surf school. We also have a variety of surf board for rent. Paddle tours are an amazing way of discovering the coastline with impressive caves and cliffs to jump from. These tours are magnificent and not to be missed !
The lodge is located in the middle of the Costa Vicentina Nature park. From here you can start beautiful walks in nature and discover the roughed coastline of the Algarve or go more inland . In Winter time nature is at it’s best. After the rains wild flowers start to blossom everywhere and the landscape turns into a colorful palette. You can also rent 1 of our mountain bikes on site and go for several bike trails starting from the lodge.
The picturesque fishermen villages of Salema and Burgau are just 5 minutes drive or 30 minutes walk from the lodge. Both villages are unique and still pretty untouched with typical Algerian houses. A few good restaurants are worth visiting and have the best freshly caught fish you will ever have. There are also a few local supermarkets and shops . Everything you need is nearby.
Such a hidden gem! I honestly had no idea just how amazing of an experience this villa would be. An unbelievable view from the terraces alongside the Home and our room and only a 5 minutes walk to a relatively secluded beach with a great bar. This home also hosts a surf and yoga camp, so when we arrived there were people from around the globe – so incredible friendly! The owners interacted with us daily and the fish bbq they host on Tuesday’s is a must. It is located in a quiet town, but still very close to Lagos and the more popular beaches. Can’t wait to come here again
Back home, and still can’t get the smile of satisfaction off my face 🙂 My ChicksOnWaves yoga and surf week was amazing!! From the first moment we arrived it made me realize that life is good 🙂 AND I finally mastered the art of catching, getting up AND riding a bunch of waves. I’m hooked, surfing is amazing and this trip was just the beginning of a new direction! Thank you to everyone that was involved! See you again next year!
